Stripped

With the Voodoo Lounge tour receiving some criticism for being too much of a spectacle, and Mick disappointed that the Voodoo Lounge songs didn’t come off as well live, the Stones played some ‘Stripped’ club shows as a way to underplay their previous extravagances. From these came the basis of the Stripped live album. These were added to with some acoustic renditions of older songs, which were recorded live-in-the-studio in Japan. With bonus CD-ROM interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, the album was received by critics as one of their best live releases, and reached No. 9 in the States.
