Swedish tenor
Björling spent much of his career at the Metropolitan Opera, New York. His evenly produced voice, with its effortless top notes, was well suited to the French repertory, but he specialized in Verdi and Puccini. One of his finest memorials is the recording of La bohème under Beecham.
