November–December

British Winter Tour

Despite their success and heavy touring schedule, the individual members of Pink Floyd kept amazingly low profiles. The only member who went anywhere near excess was Nick Mason, who had inherited a passion for performance cars from his father and began to build up his own collection. Any wild sexual activities were conducted behind closed doors by Waters, Mason and Wright – with their first wives! When they did give press interviews there was usually serious discussion about music, instruments and the equipment employed to stage Floyd’s increasingly elaborate live shows. In 1974 the band only ventured out of the recording studio for some summer European dates and a short UK tour that ran from 4 November to 14 December.
