(Vocal/instrumental group, 2002–present)
Piano-driven rock band The Fray, formed by schoolmates Isaac Slade and Joe King, earned international recognition in 2006 with their second single. ‘How To Save A Life’ was also the title track of their debut album, which reached No. 4 in the UK and No. 14 on the Billboard 200. The quartet from Denver, Colorado, followed up with a self-titled second LP that reached the top spot in America and charted in the UK Top 10 in 2009. Despite narrowly missing out on two Grammys at the end of the decade, The Fray remained a band to watch.
