(Vocal/instrumental group, 1987–92)

Centred on the magnetic persona and ethereal vocals of Björk Gudmunsdottir, this Icelandic crew captivated the UK indie world with the avant-garde, alternative pop of whooping debut single ‘Birthday’. 1988’s Life’s Too Good, a riveting debut – half commercial, half crazy – reached the UK No.14, No. 54 in the US. Einar Orn Benediktsson’s mad rapped vocals and Thor Jonson’s fine guitar added to the unique sound. Hit was a UK hit in 1991, before Björk’s solo career soared.
