(Vocal/instrumental group, 1986–present)

A wilfully avant-garde Californian trio of Les Claypool (bass, vocals), Larry Lalonde (guitar) and Tim ‘Herb’ Alexander (drums) whose left-field instrumental prowess and Claypool’s emphatic vocals pleased themselves. As their sound, humour and greater prowess developed so did a larger audience with albums like Pork Soda (1993) and Tales From The Punch Bowl (1996) winning acclaim and generating sales. Always stretching, Antipop (1999) employed a different producer for each track. Claypool also recorded solo albums under various guises.
