Concert For New York

In the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy in New York City, The Who showed their affiliation to the American people by performing at the Madison Square Garden benefit show the following month. The band delivered an emotionally charged, powerhouse performance of four tracks, which was undoubtedly the highlight of the whole event. Regular Townshend collaborator Jon Carin stood in for Bundrick on keyboards for the show. Coincidentally, Pete Townshend had been due to fly to New York on 12 September to collect the Yahoo Internet Pioneer Award for his website.
